Here are the most recent retail and dining changes to expect soon at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, including new restaurants and specialty shops.

Dining

Fans of potatoes in any form are in luck with the recent opening of Tato’s, a dining concept that first opened in downtown Silver Spring. Tato’s, located in the space previously occupied by 7-Eleven and Chocolate Moonshine, serves fries, wedges and loaded potatoes with customizable toppings. Protein options include bacon, pepperoni, pulled pork, steak and chicken. Vegetarian options include mushrooms, arugula, olives and hummus. Guests can also choose from a wide selection of cheeses and sauces.

Esvin’s Bagels and Cafe, a family-owned bagel shop, will soon open in the lower level near the Old Navy and Cheesecake Factory. The cafe plans to offer drinks and pastries in addition to their signature bagels.

Shiki Fusion, serving Japanese-Thai cuisine, is expected to open this month near AMC Theatres. Located above Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, the fusion restaurant offers premium seafood, organic herbs and premium spices. Patrons can enjoy discounted signature sushi rolls and cocktails every weekday evening.

Kami Ramen is set to open next to Cinnabon, offering traditional Japanese ramen bowls, sides and beverages in a casual dining atmosphere.

The bubble tea joint Heytea will take over the space currently occupied by Luggage Plus in the fall. The business offers handcrafted drinks including fruit teas, milk teas, matcha and coffee.

Wetzel’s Pretzels, which had an estimated arrival of fall 2025, remains closed. The website says the chain is “coming soon,” as of March 25.

Clothing, Shoes, Accessories & Skincare

Foot Locker reopened on Feb. 10 in a newly expanded space. The new-and-improved store offers an assortment of athletic footwear, clothing and accessories for sneaker enthusiasts and athletes.

Early summer will introduce multiple retail additions, including L’Occitane, known for its French skincare, fragrance and body care; Mavi, offering “premium, eco-conscious denim” in a range of styles for men and women; and Beyond Yoga, which sells size-inclusive activewear.

In late summer, Gorjana is expected to open, bringing minimalist modern gold and silver jewelry to the retail scene.

In early fall, an expanded Zara will move to a much larger upper-level space to showcase its men’s, women’s and children’s collections.

Entertainment

Kako Claw, which debuted in Montgomery County in January at Westfield Wheaton mall, is now open on the mall’s lower level. The “premium family entertainment destination” features arcade claw machines stocked with a rotating selection of prizes: plush toys, anime figures, collectible blind boxes and keychains.
