Parents who attend any of Montgomery College’s four locations can now get work done while their kids play nearby at Family-Friendly Study Spaces on campus.
Funded through donor support, each of these “thoughtfully designed areas” features tailored, family-centered amenities including toys, interactive technology, colorful furnishings, activity stations, children’s books and study areas, according to an Aug. 7 news release.
The addition of the Family-Friendly Study Spaces, part of the college’s Student Parent Program, is an effort to create a welcoming environment for students balancing academic goals and parenting responsibilities.
“Access to these spaces provides a meaningful difference for parenting students as they pursue their educational goals and balance and navigate the full scope of their family commitments,” Janee McFadden, Montgomery College’s interim senior vice president for student affairs, said in the news release.

- Germantown Campus: Humanities and Social Sciences Building Library
- East County Education Center: Library Hallway
Montgomery College students can access these study spaces with a current college identification card. Additional room location details and access instructions for each campus will be updated once finalized.
