Montgomery County GreenFest is your guide to green living this Earth Month. Learn how you can help to clean up the planet and create a more eco-friendly lifestyle by participating in a variety of free events throughout April.

This year, GreenFest is offering a variety of virtual educational workshop on topics ranging from plogging, composting and gardening with native plants. Register to join the live webinars or watch them later on YouTube.

GreenFest will also hold various challenges throughout the month, including a weekly Plogging Challenge that aims to raise awareness of stormwater pollution. (Plogging, for those unfamiliar with the term, is when you pick up trash while jogging.) Plog-A-Long packs with trash and recycling bags, a litter grabber, sanitizer and gloves are available for those participating, and students can earn SSL hours for their efforts.

Need another incentive to help clean up Montgomery County? Ploggers can win a prizes by completing weekly challenges.

Kids can learn about sustainability and explore their local environment during GreenFest with interactive BINGO games and Scavenger Hunts. Each household that submits a completed activity will be entered to win exciting prizes like a backyard explorers book.

Finally, GreenFest is teaming up with the DC Environmental Film Festival to screen two environmentally-themed documentaries. Watch the films online, then register for scheduled live panel discussions.
