Then and Now: Connecticut Avenue in Kensington

Connecticut Avenue was hardly an avenue in the 1950s, when an unknown photographer snapped this photo at Beach Drive. A nimble runner could have made it across the street without much risk. Today, with the Beltway in the distance, someone on foot might want to cross with the light.
