Are the holidays happy or hectic? Is the weather frightful or festive? Does the new year start with an awesome party or an austere set of resolutions? While these are just two of the many perspectives on “old man winter” aka “the happiest season of all,” here’s hoping my suggested titles will make it to your “nice” list either way:

Simple Gatherings: Ways to Inspire Connection
By Melissa Michaels
Does the idea of putting together a shindig make you weak in the knees? How do you even begin planning a memorable experience? This may be the busiest time of year for social engagements, but what do you do after saying “hello”? Fear not! This quick and accessible title focuses and organizes the host from word one with a chronologically arranged, detailed outline as a table of contents—creating an easy reference guide.
Bold headings and color photos make it even more welcoming. Everything from identifying the event’s purpose and discovering your “hosting style” to preparation lists and contingencies are included. The four memorable aspects of an event (atmosphere, menu, conversation and special touches) are addressed with plenty of options, specificity and serenity shortcuts for a successful event for both host and participants. The only question you’ll be asking is when you can do this again. Party on!
