The county is also well-known for its involvement in agriculture, so agritourism is a big draw. The Carroll County Farm Museum showcases local history and the evolution of farm work as technology advanced. There are also many breweries and vineyards in the area and farms that people can visit. The “Cornfusion” Corn Maze draws in a lot of tourists from all over the state during the fall season.
Local Nature: If you love biking, Carroll County is the perfect place to go. The county has over 150 miles of cycling trails across 10 different tours, and multiple shops to buy and rent bikes if you don’t have your own. There are also ample trails for hiking and horseback riding.
As for parks and wildlife preserves, the Bear Branch Nature Center has many exhibits featuring animals from around the Chesapeake area, as well as a planetarium and observatory. The Morgan Run Natural Environment Area has a trout stream that runs through the park, perfect for catch-and-release fishing and fly fishing.
