D.C. Based Chef George Rodrigues is opening his first solo restaurant “El Mercat Bar de Tapas” in Rockville Town Center. The eatery will also be hosting Friends and Family community dinner to celebrate their opening on Jan 21 and 22.
The restaurant hopes to represent “the essence of Spanish cultural diversity” with a selection of savory dishes that will take guests through a culinary journey. Its menu will feature shareable, seasonal, and house-made dishes.
Tickets for the opening are $75 per person and will include two glasses of sangria, two cold tapas, one meat tapas, one fish tapas, one seafood paella or meat paella, and one dessert with a celebratory glass of sparkling wine.
