The Woman in Black
Rockville Little Theatre presents a production of “The Woman in Black,” the Stephen Mallatratt play based on the book of the same name by Susan Hill. Performed by only three actors, the play details the story of a lawyer haunted by the ghost of a mysterious woman, the actor he recruits to tell his story and the lengths they go to to try and break the lawyer’s curse. Tickets are $24 for adults, $22 for seniors and students.

Not Dead Yet! John Cleese & The Holy Grail at 50
2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail!” Celebrate the birthday of this comedy classic at a special screening, followed by a conversation and Q&A with actor and Monty Python cofounder John Cleese. VIP ticket holders will also have the opportunity to pose for a post-show picture with Cleese. Tickets start at $28.
RisuCon 2025
Lovers of all things nerdy will want to check out RisuCon, Montgomery County’s local comics and anime convention. Check out local artists and vendors at the artist’s alley and dealer’s hall, learn something new at a panel or test your skills in the game room. There will also be cosplay contests and photoshoots, so put on your best costume for an afternoon of geeky fun! Tickets are $30 for adults and free for children ages 12 and younger.

Takoma Park Street Festival
This long-running event has been a yearly staple in Takoma Park for 44 years. There will be live music from 18 local performers, including DMV blues band The Nighthawks, as well as a vendor fair featuring over 185 artists, small businesses and community organizations. The Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department will also be holding an open house. This is a free event.

Hank Azaria and the EZ Street Band: A Springsteen Celebration
In one of the most iconic tribute bands in the country, voice actor Hank Azaria lends his voice to the iconic songs of Bruce Springsteen as part of the EZ Street Band. Proceeds from this concert will benefit the Four Through Nine Foundation, Azaria’s nonprofit, which gives grants to social justice and culture-focused organizations. Tickets start at $46.

Dahlia Floral Design Workshop
Dahlias are in season until the first frost, so make the most of that blooming season at this workshop hosted by Rolling Ridge Floral Design. Guided by owner and floral designer Emmi Bergmann, participants will make their own flower arrangements using flowers grown on the farm. Tickets are $90, with a $7.88 fee.
Silver Spring Fall-O-Ween
Put on your best costume for this all-ages Halloween festival and craft fair! Local vendors will be tabling, selling spooky and seasonal fall and Halloween-themed crafts. Bring a furry friend for the pet costume parade! This is a free event.

Wheaton Film Festival
The 11th annual Wheaton Film Festival is a showcase of indie short films from creatives from around the world, including student films and creations
from local filmmakers. This event also features educational panels on film law and distribution, as well as a dinner reception and after-party. Tickets are $25 with a $3.52 fee.

American Railroad: Silkroad Ensemble Featuring Wu Man
The Silkroad Ensemble takes a different approach to American music, incorporating the indigenous and immigrant cultures that have contributed to the America we know today. American Railroad incorporates Indian, Japanese and Irish instruments, as well as a performance from pipa master Wu Man. Tickets start at $28.
Woodley House’s 29th Annual Movie Benefit
Spend a night at the movies for a good cause at this annual event, which features an exclusive screening of a new movie emceed by CNN anchor and chief political correspondent Dana Bash! Proceeds benefit Woodley House’s mission to provide housing and resources for people with mental disorders. Tickets are $75.
