REAL ESTATE CENTRAL
The median sale price for a home in Montgomery County in April 2017 was $435,000 compared to $415,000 a year ago, according to county housing market data provided by Long and Foster.

The months of supply number for April 2017 was lower than last year - 2.4 months versus 3.0 months in 2016. The supply figure indicates how many months it would take to exhaust inventory assuming no new homes are listed. In short, it's still considered a seller's market. More Info

CUISINE SCENE
For the Foodies in Montgomery County

BARKING MAD CAFE - At the relatively new Gaithersburg cafe, the goal "was to create a chic, modern environment that’s fun and inviting. Call us daft, but we also believe a menu can be off the beaten path without sending you on a wacky, unpronounceable adventure or scaring the kids. Our chefs focus on fresh, local ingredients and simple, yet elegant presentation." Mission accomplished. barkingmadcafe.com

CAFE ROMA - The owners of Il Porto, a wonderful Italian restaurant in Gaithersburg known for food as good as its service, are taking over space currently run by Italian Pines, a mainstay in the Shops at Potomac Valley on Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg. Expect a late summer grand opening. ilportorestaurant.com

PIEOLOGY - Pizza lovers will welcome the opening of Pieology in Bethesda, the newest Maryland location for the fast-casual pizza chain. Pieology has built a loyal following from those who like the make-your-own pie concept of endless pizza combinations and possibilities. The menu also includes custom salads. A Pieology location in Gaithersburg opened last fall. pieology.com

POLLO CAMPERO - From its first store in Guatemala in 1971 to more than 70 restaurants in the U.S., Pollo Campero has been preparing traditional hand-breaded or citrus grilled, all-natural chicken, marinated to the bone and seasoned with a savory blend of citrus and herbs.
